Waarom HAMMER?
The HAMMER SPORT AG is deeply rooted in the manufacture, sales and distribution of sporting articles for more than 100 years now. Everything started with the production of tennis racquets and wooden skis.
After the Second World War the manufacturer with the brand “erbacher” becomes the leading German ski manufacturer with important innovations. The company produces the world’s first plastic ski and is the second company in the world to develop and produce metal skis, after Howard Head. Heidi Biebl wins Gold downhill at the Winter Olympics in Squaw Valley (USA) on erbacher Grand Prix skis.
1982 Hammer Sport takes over the German general distribution of the globally renowned Mikasa volleyballs (supplier to the Olympic Games, World and European Championships). 1984 a Joint Venture with the world biggest fitness manufacturer at that time „DP“ was created. After that cooperation in1989 HAMMER SPORT developed and introduced a home fitness equipment programme under the brand name HAMMER. Today HAMMER SPORT AG belongs to the leading suppliers of homefitness equipment in Germany.1996 Boxing and martial arts equipment is added to the HAMMER distribution programme.
As part of the dynamic growth of HAMMER SPORT the company was converted 1999 into an incorporated company with a recapitalization in order to adjust to its increased market importance.
2005 our premium brand FINNLO was introduced to the market. Today FINNLO is THE innovative fitness brand in Europe. A consequent premium demand to a high-level quality and design is the crucial factor for the big success of the brand FINNLO.
The success story of HAMMER and FINNLO fitness equipment is based mainly on the development of high quality products with innovative features, lots of them patented for HAMMER SPORT AG – to fulfil the high standards of the European, especially the German market.
HAMMER SPORT searches manufacturers all over the world by the criteria quality and costs. There are outlets to coordinate the development and puchase in Taipeh/Taiwan and Shanghai/China. The employees and freelancers there work execlusively for HAMMER SPORT and are close connected with the headquarter in Neu-Ulm to ensure the supply of the goods with the required quality standard. For customer service and product support there is a well organized service center in Neu-Ulm.
Today the complete assortment includes more than 600 different articles that are handled in 5 sport departments. The company supplys dealers in more than 40 countries all over the world.
Hammer Sport AG can count on every important partner like mailorder companies, department stores, general stores, purchasing associations, sport shops, sport specialists, bike-specialists and Sanitary retail trade in each of its business departments (Fitness, Mikasa, Box- and Martial Arts Equipment). Beside the domestic market the part of the Export markets become more and more important. The main focus here is still on Europe.
